Beautifully filmed, scripted and acted, with French Cinema, David Lynch, and Classic Noir influences. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, it deserves to be better known... For my first colour film, I'm happy to be able to post this elusive, forgotten, and truly excellent Neo-Noir. I remember watching it a long while ago, then could never find a good copy of it. It was finally released on DVD in 2007, by Televista. It appears to have been a hurried release, in 4:3, cropped and squashed from the theatrical release, and not great quality, and to this day, it is the only version to be publicly released, despite it being a truly excellent movie. In addition, with five production companies, and two countries, involved in creating it, there seem to have been licensing issues to this day. Information concerning this movie is sparse, IMDB, The BFI, and Wikipedia have only bares bones information, and there are only 6 reviews on IMDB, but they serve as a great insight: Arguably one of the best movies dated 1988 Brilliant, unexpected and stylish True psychological thriller Guilty Pleasures A cinematic gem in every way ...and from one review: I would say that it ranks with Jack Clayton's THE PUMPKIN EATER (1964) and Jules Dassin's 10:30 PM SUMMER (1966) as one of the finest psychological cinematic dramas of the second half of the 20th century. It shares its title with another film, Une Nuit (Paris by Night) from 2012, a great Police Crime Drama that takes place over 24 Hours in Paris. I added original subtitles in English.
